Aquabub is proud to bring you the La Bassine™ birth pool for hire.  This pool was designed in the UK by a mum to create an intimate, soothing and comfortable birth environment.  I spent four hours labouring in the pool and really loved how I could fully relax on the comfy sides between contractions. And kneel and sit comfortably on the inflated pool bottom. And during that four hours the water only needed topping up with hot once - the air chambers in the sides and bottom helped to retain heat!

 

Features: 

  • Cocoon-like shape to provide an intimate space whilst still allowing plenty of room to move (& room for your partner too!).  
  •  An inflatable floor to give extra comfort while sitting and kneeling.
  • Wide sides which are perfect for leaning over during / between contractions - soooo comfortable!!
  • Two internal handles which can be used to help with position changes and to hold on to while pushing during the second stage of labour. 
  • The see through walls enable your midwife to see what's happening under the water when required, while remaining hands off.
  • The built in vertical I-beams in the sides of the pool give a firmness to the wall, creating stability - important when leaning and resting on the sides.  The I-beams also act as a fail safe anti-flooding mechanism in the event of an accidental puncture. 
  • Eco-friendly and highly durable vinyl (0.42mm thick) that does not contain any phthalates, lead or cadmium which are so often used in plastic production.
