Custom lengths to suit your requirements.  Measure how many metres there are from your laundry taps to the place you will be setting up the birth pool.  Then order the number of metres of hose that you require! 

The hose is non-toxic, 19mm food grade hose. (We provide 19mm hose to speed filling time.  Most standard hoses are 12mm).

A non-toxic hose is recommended for use when filling a birth pool as garden hoses contain chemicals which prevent them breaking down and becoming brittle in the weather.  These chemicals leach into water that is run through them.  They are at their strongest concentrations in brand new garden hose, and older hose that is starting to deteriorate.  If you decide to buy a garden hose ensure that it is rinsed thoroughly before using it to fill the birth pool. 

Connect one end to your hose and the other to your laundry tap.  It is recommended that you start filling the pool with cold water first to avoid scalding.  Then simply switch the hose with adaptor attached to the hot tap, alternating between cold and hot water as required, until the pool is filled to the desired water level and temperature.

This adaptor kit includes a Y-adaptor allowing simultaneous connection to both the hot and cold laundry taps.  Get just the right mix of cold and hot water filling your pool - saves time on filling from each tap individually.

During labour in a birth pool the water may sometimes require some filtering - this debris net is perfect for the job.  At 20cm wide it can even scoop up the placenta if needed.
